Permanent patent applications were filed in September 2006 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as well as with the International Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

The European Patent Office (EPO), in its capacity as International Preliminary Examining Authority, has accepted Thegreencell’s International Application for genetically modified aloe contains patentable subject matter and grant of a patent, at least by the EPO is now probable. The subject matter which has been identified as patentable is our technology for generating a transgenic aloe plant for producing a biologically active protein in the plant.

We have entered the Regional Filing Phase with the European Patent Office (second largest market after the US) as well the National Filing Phase in Australia, Brazil, China, Japan and Mexico.
